Latest additions to my wardrobe

Since the start of last week, I have been on two rather successful shopping trips and bought some fantastic additions to my wardrobe.

The first shopping trip was based on the idea of needing - or should I say wanting - new shoes for my upcoming holiday to London this May. I knew exactly what I wanted so I expected to be able to just go into a shop, grab a pair and leave but with the sales still coming to a close, finding the style of shoe I wanted in my size made going in and out a little more difficult.

After dragging my friend around different shops, picking and choosing and trying on countless amounts of shoes, I finally found THE pair I had been looking for.  These Chelsea boots were in the sale at £12 in the New Look sale. I put these to use on Saturday night where I attended an evening out with my work colleagues. Evenings out with work are always great fun as we all get on so well.

The second pair of shoes that I got were these biker style boots for £18, also found in the New Look sale. At first glance, I knew I liked them but I wasn't too sure about getting them due to the style being a bit chunkier around the toes compared with what I usually get boot-wise. I'm so glad I did get them because I've had so much use out of them since.

Afew extras that I got on the trip include four pairs of tights for £9 from Dorothy Perkins and this black bag from New Look for £12 in the sale which is the perfect size for storing the essentials in on a night out or if you don't want to lug a big, bulky bag around. I must say, the bag came in very useful on Saturday when I only needed my phone, perfume, some money and a hairbrush.

My second shopping trip was unplanned - I was only going to pop into boots to get some hairspray and face wipes while I waited for my mum, who decided that we needed to get some last minute birthday presents for her friend and my gran while we were there.

I'm pleased to say that I did find something that I've spent a lot of time looking at online this week - a blanket scarf, which I lived in ever since I got it! It was so useful this morning as I started work at 6:15 am every Thursday and Friday - it kept me cosy on the journey into work and I'm sure it'll do the same tomorrow.

My blanket scarf is great for my Thursday shifts as I always freeze!

This was the most expensive purchase of the week costing £19.99 from New Look. When I say expensive, what I mean is, it was the thing I spent the most money on. If it isn't already obvious enough, I don't like to spend much on anything, so when I find an item that I love for less than £20 I find it very hard not to buy it.

Other finds on the second trip were a gold and silver necklace half price at £2.50, a gym top for £8.99 and a sports bra for £9.99 all from New Look. Now, I must point out that the reason almost everything I buy is from New Look is because they stock items that I know I like the style and price of. And due to Guernsey being such a small island, there isn't enough space for more big name shops such as River Osland, Top Shop or even Primark. The biggest shops we have here are New Look, Next and Boots.

If I worked in town, I could guarantee that I would buy an item of clothing everyday - I'm guilty of being too easily tempted by clothes (and chocolate)! Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who is?! But a bit of retail therapy every now and then never goes a miss, and bargain prices add to the satisfaction so I can safely say I am chuffed with my little bargains.

Charlotte.
