101 in 1001: Walk around Miami Seaquarium, Miami

When James and I decided to tick off a visit to the Miami Seaquarium from my 101 in 1001 list, we hadn't pictured the it to be the way it actually was. We expected it to be all inside, as the UK aquariums tend to be, however this one was mostly outside.

Upon arrival, we bought our tickets and map then made our way through the entrance into the main area. It was such a hot day and we spent the majority of the day (and our whole week in Miami - it was super humid) melting and trying to find some shade in an attempt to cool down a little.

Don't get me wrong; it's incredibly sad that the whale and the three dolphins all share quite a small tank, however I can't help but admire their understanding of the signs and commands the trainer gave them and the tricks they can perform.

Look at how relaxed and chilled out these seals are though!

We spent a good few hours at the Miami Seaquarium and had a lovely day. We actually took a walk around the area after we left the Seaquarium and strolled along the path bordering the beach. Every other beach I've been too has had steps, rocks or a slop to get on and off so to be able to step off the path and straight onto the beach was also a new experience. On our way back to finding transport back to Bayside, we came across some sort of lizard sat in the car park, on it's own and away from all vehicles which then shot off into the bushes before I could catch a photo of it. It was massive!

Charlotte.
