Best Bits: April 2018
With April now coming to an end, its time for another monthly best bits post. These posts seem to come around so quickly every month and I don't know how the time is passing us by so quickly.
Easter Weekend. With starting the month in the midst of the Easter celebrations, it was a lovely, relaxing start to the month. James and I made some Easter Cookies on Easter Sunday, after I found this recipe from Emma at Owls and Stags. They turned out surprisingly well considering we had a bit of a shock when we discovered that our oven isn't very user friendly and it's all guess work. Read more here. James and I then headed to my mums for dinner. Easter Monday was pretty unproductive. We have both been shattered recently so we just curled up on the sofa for hours watching all three Hangover movies as well as Grown Ups 1 and 2.
Chinese. The fact we now live directly opposite a Chinese is going to be dangerous! Sj came round the weekend after the Easter weekend for a catch up, to see the flat and for a Chinese. We ended up playing Mario Kart for hours on end before calling it a night.
Mario Marathon. Chloe and Rosie came round for a Mario Marathon mid month. We played a small selection of games on the Wii; Mario Kart (I mean, obviously), Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and the Winter Olympic Games. If time had permitted, we would have had a few games on the Switch. Perfect excuse for another!Social Life. I seem like quite the social bunny this month in comparison with other months so far this year. As previously mentioned in this post, I've caught up with Chloe and Rosie a couple of time as well as Scott. I've also been out with work and Lulu and I caught up over milkshakes and a walk to make the most of the lovely weather we were having.

Carb-fest. My colleague did the London Marathon this year which I personally think is pretty darn cool. To send her off with good wishes, our team headed out for pizza with her and her family. We went to Rosso for food and while I've been before, I wasn't impressed with their pizza last time so I opted for Rosemary Chicken with a side of truffle fries which were incredible.
Sun. The lovely sun has finally decided to make an appear for the first time this year. Being able to walk to work without my coat or a hoodie has been brill. Long may this weather continue!
Les Douvres outing. I know full well that I won't reap the fully benefits and effects of Insanity by cheating, but I feel I'm doing pretty well with my diet so I decided that one pizza won't do too much damage. Plus, if anyone offers me a Douvres pizza, I will NEVER decline. Although I didn't actually go for a pizza on this occasion, as I noticed the steak on the menu and couldn't resist. The Malteaser Chocolate Sundae for dessert was also a no brainer -YUM!

During this last week of April, I've gone from wearing summer dresses to leaving the house in four layers. I've gone to bed with my hands and feet feeling like ice blocks. Here's to hoping that May brings us some nicer weather!
Charlotte.
