101 in 1001: Go to Miami beach, Miami
After spending a couple of hours at South Beach, James and I decided to venture on and see more of Miami Beach, tick off another from my 101 in 100 list.
We left the beach early afternoon and headed off to find somewhere to grab a bite to eat. We found a Cuban restaurant where we drank cocktails and ate pizza. The restaurant had mostly outside seating and limited inside seating so we soon decided to finish up and head to another bar with air con or cooling sprays in their outside area.
The first bar we found with air con was showing a game from the World Cup and was right next door to an ice cream shop. We stopped for a quick drink and a rest - the heat was actually surprisingly tiring - before heading off to explore the area with an ice cream. Before long, we were at Flamingo Park which you can read more about here.
To end our day in Miami Beach, we headed to another bar (this one, I actually remember the name of) called The Clevelander. While having a very young and party like atmosphere, it was also quite relaxing. With a DJ and live music and a pool, you can sit down for dinner and a few drinks or stay for drinks all afternoon/evening. We didn't have to wait long for our food and weren't disappointed with the quality or the service received from the staff.
James and I actually headed back to the Miami Beach area a couple of days later, where we visited South Beach and The Clevelander again. Considering we visited the week of July 4th, Miami Beach wasn't as busy and crowded as we expected it to be. We'd definitely go back and visit the city again in the future.
Charlotte.
