Best Bits: September '15
I cannot believe we are at the end of September already! Where is this year going?! It only feels like yesterday that I turned 18, despite that actually happening back in December of 2014. I must say, I didn't have high hopes in the way of many things happening this month but I think I can safely say that I managed to get a few things done and dusted.
Gym. I began the month by doing a full week of gym sessions. I spent every day of that week doing both weights and cardio but also had a game of racquetball with Heather Watson's dad. I can't really call it a 'game', as such - it was only the second time I've ever done racquetball and both times Ian has been nice enough to teach me how to play.
Catch ups with Tasmin. Tasmin buggered off to uni right at the very beginning of the month so Chloe, Rosie and I have tried to have catch up with her a couple of times. Chloe and I spent the first Saturday of the month trying to find the most effective method of communication through the internet. We tried Skype but I couldn't see them and vice versa despite the audio being there on my iPad. We then tried FaceTime but you can't do a group call on there. Then we tried Facebook Messenger Video Calling but that also didn't work. Our last port of call was Google Hangouts which worked perfectly for group calls - both video and audio worked for everyone. So now, for the next year (or longer, if Tasmin decides to extend her time at university) we shall be communicating through Google hangouts.
Holidays. I booked some time off work for the up coming months. I have a long weekend booked to go to the UK to visit Tasmin for her birthday. I'm actually pretty excited about visiting as I'll get to spend Halloween at university. I also booked off a bit during December for my birthday and a few days in November.
This month, I managed to tick off a fair few items off of my 2015 list; Crazy golf, cooking, rugby, road trip and bowling. These all took place over one weekend - you couldn't have had two more different days in terms of weather. Saturday was lovely, it was so hot and sunny! Sunday, on the other hand, started off nice but took a turn for the worst.
Shopping. I have done a fair bit of shopping again this month. The first two which took place were inspired by the sudden drop in temperature and change of weather. Who said it was okay for winter to come along so soon? I mean, does autumn not get a look in? I think it's fair to say I'm better prepared for winter now though. Although, more clothes would of course be welcomed with open arms! The more recent ones have been in aided of preparing for Christmas and birthdays. The last three months of the year seem to be packed with birthdays and celebrations.
So now October is almost upon us and we're one step closer to 2016! How strange does that sound? I think it's safe to say that summer is well and truly over now. I'm actually really looking forward to layering up in the cold weather - so far it hasn't quite been cold enough for lots of layers but not quite warm enough to leave the house without a backup coat. Someone please help me choose the most suitable clothing for this weather! Enjoy your October everyone!
Charlotte.
