Best bits: December '15

How can it be the end of December and the end of 2015 already?! I honestly can't believe how quickly this year has gone!

At work, our office is spilt over two floors - my floor had our Christmas dinner on the first Friday of the month at The Absolute End. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I can't say I'll be rushing back. I personally don't think the food was worth the pricing. We were definitely loudest table in there - we had decided to play 'Heads Up'. This game had me in tears, it was hilarious! You have to get one person to guess as many different things as you can within a minute without saying the word that's on the screen. I must say, it was strange waking up the following day without a hangover - that's a pretty rare occurrence for me when I go out with work...

As an early birthday present, Chloe took me to see a Pantomime. We watched The Night After Christmas and went with some old colleagues of hers. I love a good panto! I must say, I hadn't heard of this one before but I still thoroughly enjoyed it! There's always a man dressed as woman at these pantomimes!

My birthday was at the beginning of the month. I know 19 isn't a massive celebration like an 18th or 21st or whatever but this years birthday was a damn site better than last years... I had the day off - and the following three working days - and spent the morning in my pjs before going out for lunch with my Gran and auntie, having the family around and then going out to the cinema with Tom. We went to watch Spectre which was a bit of an odd choice for someone, like me, who struggles to watch a half hour TV show without getting distracted, let alone a two and a half hour long movie. Not that I didn't enjoy it!

My 18 necklace and charm on their last day of duty

Over the weekend following my birthday, I spent the Saturday afternoon and evening with Chloe, Rosie and Sj. I had to work that morning. We went for a drive - which, of course, just had to turn into a disco drive (music on full while we sing at the top of our lungs and car dance - has to done!) - followed by a meal at mine over movies, games and gossip. One of my favourite ways to spend a day (minus the working, plus some music)!

I did the Santa Fun Run this year for the first time. I booked the Monday after off of work as my family, friends I were expecting me to be rather sore as I did next to no training. Much to my surprise (and everyone else's) I was fine the following day.

Before the run began

On one of my days off, I spent my day having a Horror Movie Marathon. As this was on my 2015 list you can find the full post here.

I wrote up about how I got fit this year. By 'fit', I mean physically fit - not food healthy as well. I'm still working on that while eating healthy thing. You can find out more about how that went here.

'Make a YouTube video' was the last and final thing to be ticked off my list. Unfortunately, I only managed two thirds of it.

A December round up wouldn't be right without a mention of Christmas. This year, I did Christmas a bit differently. Every year up until now I have spent all of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family. Purely for the fact that all of my friends have been busy with their families. This year, however, I went for drinks straight from work with my colleagues. Rosie and I went back into town later on that evening. Christmas Day began in the same way as every other year - exchanging presents with my mum and stepdad before watching some sort of Christmas movie on TV. Apart from the hangover - that was a new thing this year... We then had lunch (which I'd been waiting all morning for) before I went to see my Gran and had some Yule Log bought from Marks & Spencer. It wouldn't be Christmas without an m&s Yule Log! Boxing Day was spent with Sj. Sj and I have exchanged presents with each other for the last four or five years now. I got her a clock with 12 photo frames around it which I filled with photos from throughout the years. Choosing only 12 was quite hard as I have so many lovely photos of both of us and so many hilarious photos of her which she finds pretty embarrassing. I have never given a present and had it go down as well as that one did! I'm so glad she liked it.

Rosie's birthday was also this month. Her birthday has always been really easy for me to remember as it's only 20 days after mine. Rosie had us round for a movie night and a catch up on Wednesday. Now, I did get her a present, but because I was in such a rush that evening I completely forgot to pick it up and give it to her...

Of course there New Year's Eve. It has been tradition for Chloe, Rosie, Tasmin and I to see the new year in together for a few years now. This time around, only Chloe and I are spending the new year together. The evening is set to be full of Chinese food, chocolate, sweets, crisps, video games and fireworks.

Blurry snapchat photo.
Plus the dog barely stayed still long enough!

I hope you all had a lovely December and a wonderful end to your 2015. Do you have any New Years resolutions or are you like me in the sense of disliking the whole 'new year, new me'?

Charlotte.
