Best Bits: May 2017
The month of May started off being quite the tricky one this year. However, I did manage to pull together some highlights from the month, even with all that went on. So let's move onto the positives!
Sj's birthday. To celebrate turning 20, Sj had a bunch of us round for some drinks. I headed round straight after work with food to help set up before everyone arrived. We had our playlist at the ready and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!
Moving day. To start off the month, I moved in with my Gran. Living together has gone pretty smoothly so far and we've both enjoyed having the company. It's been great having dogs around the house again as well.
Decluttering. Linking in with moving, I had a bit of a de clutter of all my possessions. You don't realise just how much rubbish you have until you come to move. When it came down to it, I was quite brutal with what I threw out - going from having a whole house (well, wing) to basically down sizing to living out of one room aided my decision to chuck out/donate so much. I still have a little way left to go but it's almost all done.
Exercise. I know! I finally started getting back into my sessions at the gym. I even have been going to touch rugby weekly since the business league started. Sj and I have also been looking at starting indoor wall climbing!
Baking. I had a go at making some Oreo brownies earlier this month. I can confirm they went down a treat and will no doubt be requested again. I even did a recipe post which you can find here.
I'm coming back! It's all about the small steps you take in getting yourself back your old self again that really make the difference! For me, turning back has been a long time coming. I feel so much better in myself knowing I'm back on the right track. While I'm not quite where I want to be, I'm trying and I will get there. Post coming soon! I promise!
Catch up. I had an overdue catch up with Lauren and Lulu at Crabbies over the weekend just gone. Lulu and I started off with a drink in the sun while we waited for Lauren to join us before heading in for food. Lulu and I had a pizza each while Lauren went for steak. We ended our catch up with a small walk around the area before parting ways. It was lovely to see them again. Catherine and I also went for dinner on Wednesday for a long over due catch up.
Holiday. While I've not left the island - although I did consider it earlier this month - I booked a couple days off this week as recently, I've been feeling the effects of not allowing myself to rest fully. It was nice to take things at my own pace and actually get on with the bits and bobs I've been putting off for weeks.
I feel like there's more to add to this post as it seems as though I've bee super busy this month and I feel as though I've missed something.
