Progress Report: 4 Months Later

Remember way back in February when I wrote this post? I had full intentions of getting myself back on track to being my usual, positive self. I also planned on documenting my progress on a monthly basis. I guess I was so stuck in my rut that I struggled to follow through with pretty much all of my intentions.

Seeing as my original plan of monthly progress updates didn't quite go to the plan I had in mind, I'm now nearing being four months late to the 'party'. But I'm getting there. Let's not forgot that change doesn't automatically happen overnight or at the click of your fingers. It takes time. I'm choosing to look at the last four months as being the rocky start to my journey back to normal.

At the start of April, my happiness had started to peak, for the first time in about six months. Then came the end of April/start of May and I took quite the knock. However, throughout the course of May, more so now as we enter June, I feel I have really been tackling the issues that were bringing me down for the majority of last year and earlier this year.

Talking about things that are playing on my mind has always been something I'm particularly terrible at. I'm the same with explaining things sometimes. The former has seen quite the improvement recently. The latter is still currently a work in progress. However, I've found putting myself in situations where I have to explain certain things has helped ever so slightly with this issue of mine.

One major difference I've noticed in myself over the past month or so is that my happiness levels have increased dramatically. Rather than the odd burst of happiness periodically like so over the past year, I feel like it's at a steady level for the most part. Surrounding myself with those who make me happy and who tend to have a generally positive attitude has helped me maintain my own happiness. I'll be honest, keeping the good people around has helped slightly with my motivation. While it's not quite back to old standards yet, all I need is get myself into a routine. I think we can all agree that's easier said than done!

Fitness-wise, I have been getting back into the gym. While not quite as often as I had originally planned, I've still gone in for two or three sessions a week. I've also joined the work touch rugby team where we train once a week on Tuesday's as well as having one match a week on Wednesday's.

The only down side to exercise is that I've been eating a lot, meaning I'm currently not seeing the benefits of the exercise. However, I've recently ordered some supplements off of Amazon in the hope that they will aid my health and fitness intentions and get me back on the right track. As you've probably guess, my eating habits are still the same and I've not come up with any healthier options as of yet. Note to self: look into new recipes to try.

Side note: we left high school four years ago!

That's all I can think to add to my first progress report. Fingers crossed, I'll get myself back on track enough to write a second one in another month or so! If you have any suggestions on what might help with motivation levels, or if you have any healthy recipes, please share!
