60 Things To Do In 2015: Go to a Hard Rock Cafe
Needless to say, I was pretty excited about this. My expectations were most definitely reached.
I'm ashamed to say, I only made it through half of it. It was quite a disappointment really as it was just so tasty but I was so full that even breathing made me feel quite ill. So in an attempt to wash it all down, we ordered a cocktail each. I don't know what Sj got but I ordered what I think was called a Fruitaloopa, although I can't say I was a big fan. Because we ordered the larger size of our cocktails, we were able to collect a free glass to take home as a souvenir from the Rock Shop - all we had to do was show our receipt and we were presented with our glasses all packaged in boxes labeled with the Hard Rock Cafe logo.
We arrived at about 6:20pm on Wednesday, 5th May and were told we would have a 20 to 30 minute wait before a table would be ready for us. We were given a little beeper so that we could go off for a little wonder while we waited. In this time, we popped next door to have a little mooch around the rock cafe. Neither me nor Sj bought anything to began with so we went and spent the remainder of our wait sat down outside Hard Rock.
It wasn't as long as we were expecting to be waiting before our beeper started buzzing. We walked in and the walls were completed covered with photos, instruments and everything rock related! The lady who seated was really friendly - as were the rest of the staff. She handed us our menus and told us if we had any music requests then we were to let her know as she controlled what music was played.
Not long later, our server came to take our order. I can't get over how quickly we were served throughout the whole evening, especially with every table constantly occupied! Despite this, every member of staff seemed very happy and completely mellow the whole time we were there.
I ordered the chicken fajitas while Sj got macaroni cheese. If you were wondering, my wraps were in that brown paper bag shown below. Only four were in there, and that was obviously not enough to hold all of fillings provided with the meal. But oh wow, it was good!
Up next came dessert. Even before we walked through the door, we knew what we were going to order. Our server came to take our choices, and smiled when we asked for two Hot Fudge Brownies. Next thing I know, our server is making his way through the tables with the two biggest desserts I have ever seen in my entire life! I turned to Sj and said "Are these our desserts?! I think they are.. Look at the size of them! Oh my god they are!" And then we were presented with two mountains of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, chocolate sprinkles, walnuts and a cherry on top with our hot fudge brownie buried underneath it all. The brownie was literally no where to be seen under it all! I'm sure it's the same size as my face! It's definitely triple the size of every other dessert in the restaurant, or any restaurant!
Once we had finished our drinks, we paid the bill and went into The Rock Shop next door where bought myself a lovely zip up hoodie and collected our free glasses. After this, we wobbled back to the underground and made our way back to the hotel. It was a lovely evening filled with brilliant food and service. I'm glad we made it as we weren't actually waiting long at all!
Charlotte.
