Blogmas, day 13
On the thirteenth day of Blogmas...
I got a little side tracked with my gift ideas posts over the weekend, what with all the celebrations. Fear not, today I'm back with another. I think I only have a couple more ideas for the ideas posts now as the majority of others can fit into the ones I've already done. Mums, aunties, Grans and sisters can be slotted into the 'for her' or 'for friends' posts and the same for dads, brothers, uncles and grandpa's in the 'for him' post.
Today, I'm sharing Christmas shoe box ideas for girls.
Flannels. You can get flannels of a decent quality on the cheap from Amazon in all colours. They are also the perfect size to go in your shoebox.
Soap. I think this goes without saying but there's no need to go all out of fancy bottles of soap. Just a plain and simple bar of soap without all of the harsh chemicals and strong scents will do just the job.
Small toys. Yo-yo's, ping pong balls and dice are a few of the small toys are that acceptable for the boxes as they are universal items that are generally really safe. Obviously you wouldn't add one of those bouncy balls you can win in those machines in arcades as if you were to get hit with one of those it could cause a small amount of damage. Soft and cuddly toys - like the toys you can pick up from the baby section of a toy store - are also suitable.
Stationery. Pens, pencils, A5 (or A4 if you plan on bending it into your box) notepad, a calculator, sharpener and a pencil case are all valuable items for young girls both in and out of school. You can even get a colouring book as long as it doesn't have any words or anything that could be deemed offensive.
Hair accessories. Hair bands and hair clips are always handy little things for girls. Ladies, remember when you were younger and liked trying out new hair styles? Haha!
Gloves, scarves, hats and socks. People tend to forget the necessities in shoe boxes. The items that will keep you warm will never go a miss.
Food and liquids are usually turned down due to allergies and expiry dates. Sharpe objects are also a no for obvious reasons.
For more ideas and clearer guidelines on what can and cannot be included in a Christmas shoebox, search 'The Christmas Shoebox Appeal' in Google as there are a couple of charities that support the idea and all have different allowances, restrictions, cut off dates and donation instructions.
